What counts as beating my rate?

We take the total you were charged for that month and compare it against what the same transactions would have cost on Payzium's published rates, with interchange and network fees passed through at cost plus our published margin. If our total is not lower than the total on your statement, we did not beat it and the gift card is yours.

I am locked into a contract. Is the audit still worth it?

The audit runs the same way. If we cannot beat your current rate you get the $500 now, and if we can, you know exactly what the remaining term is costing you before it comes up for renewal.

How do you make money if the audit is free?

We are the provider, not a middleman. The audit is how we earn your business: we put our published rates against your own statement and if our numbers do not win, we pay you for your time. You never pay us for the audit.

What if my statement is missing pages?

We tell you which ones. The three-business-day clock pauses until the statement is complete, because a missing terminal lease page can change the answer, and we would rather be late asking than fast and wrong.

How the audit works

You send one statement. Your most recent processing statement, every page, including any page that lists a terminal lease or rental fee. Black out anything you consider sensitive. We need the fee lines, not your customers.

We rebuild it line by line. Every category on your statement is repriced against the rates published on our pricing page. The rebuild is then reconciled against your statement's own fee total, to the cent. If it does not reconcile, we send you nothing, because a number we cannot prove is not worth your time.

You get an answer in three business days. Either a quote on our published rates that costs you less, or a $500 Visa gift card. A person from Payzium calls you to walk through the result either way.

We miss the three-business-day deadline on a complete statement.

The second one is on us. If we run late, you are paid whether or not we could have beaten your rate.

Who qualifies

A short list, and we would rather you know now than after you have sent us anything.

One audit per business.
At least $5,000 a month in card volume.
You are the owner, or you can make this decision.
You take the results call. The audit is not finished until we have walked you through it, and the gift card is for a finished audit.
Your statement is complete. Every page, including the terminal lease or rental page. If pages are missing we tell you which, and the clock pauses until we have them.
Your business is not in Quebec. We are not onboarding Quebec merchants until our French build is live, so we cannot run the audit there yet.

your statement

What happens to your statement

A person opens it. That is the difference between this and the instant estimate on our rate check page, which is read by software and deleted in the same request. An audit is done by hand, so your statement is kept while that work happens.

We keep it. We store your statement to run the audit, to talk you through the result, and as part of our records of the work we did. We do not sell it, and we do not send it to anyone outside Payzium.

You can have it deleted. Ask us and we delete it. Email support@payzium.com from the address you sent it from and it is removed.

We do not need anything else. No banking details, no card numbers, no identification. The audit reads the numbers on the statement and nothing more, which is why blacking out anything sensitive costs you nothing.
